weekends in spring

Everyone in our house always gets excited for spring.  It means BASEBALL.  And this year TBALL.  We cheer for big brother on Saturday and for Daddy on Sunday.

Kass coaches Kaden's tball team.  That has been quite the {learning} experience...FOR ALL OF US.  It's hard for a 3 year old to understand why he cannot get the ball EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.  It's hard learning how to play on this thing called a "team".  Especially when that certain 3 year old can go out in the back yard and play one on one with {COACH} Daddy every day and get the ball every single time.  That being said, it is getting better.  There are fewer and fewer meltdowns as the season progresses.  I'm just glad he's not the only one...  The team name is Lil' Rascals.  Very fitting!  I'm sure if you asked Kass and his assistant coach, they'd say "it's like trying to herd a bunch of cats" ~ really cute cats though.  All  in all, what really matters is that the Lil' Rascals are having fun and are learning a lil' bit about baseball while being 'herded".

Everyone wins on Saturday.  There are no losers.  Score is not kept.  Sunday is different.  There are winners.  There are losers.  And keeping score is a MUST.  It's "for real" baseball.  We enjoy watching Daddy in his zone.  It helps that he's on a good team too {again}.  I believe they are 6-0.  Go Sliders!

easter fun {in pics}

Easter was lots of fun as evidenced in the pictures that follow.  I'm so happy Catrina and Kamden drove the {LONG} 10 hours to see us.  The boys had an absolute blast together.  I loved watching their imaginations run free...

Bailey Raye

My sweet Bailey Raye is 9 weeks old today and I have yet to introduce her to the blogosphere.  I feel like such a slacker when it comes to blogging these days.  It's hard to find the TIME to just sit and compose my thoughts.  And when I do have a little extra TIME to myself, I don't want to spend it on the computer.  I'd rather be napping.  Reading.  Or catching up on my shows.  But today, I'm making and taking the TIME to introduce Bailey Raye...

She was born January 30, 2013 at 6:04AM.  She weighed in at 9lbs 2oz and was 21in long.  Every ounce of her is absolutely beautiful to me!

My labor and delivery with Bailey was very different from my labor and delivery with Kaden.  With Kaden, I was in labor for 8 hours and with Bailey it was 11 hours, not counting the 8 hours prior to that that I was having contractions that weren't consistent.  Kaden and I even rode the train at the zoo that day, all while I was having contractions.  So I guess if I want to make the story sound really good, I could say Bailey's labor and delivery was a total of 19 hours!  But I won't...  With Kaden, everything was natural.  No drugs...yes, I was the crazy lady who wanted a drug free birth.  Painful yet simply amazing.  With Bailey, my blood pressure was higher than the nurse was comfortable with so she made me lay down and stay down once I was 7cm.  This made the contractions more intense and at 8cm, I opted for an epidural.  No more pain and yet, simply amazing!  Thirty minutes of pushing with Kaden and less than 3 minutes with Bailey.  All for the same end result ~ a beautiful, healthy baby to love and call my own.

Bailey has been a pretty easy going and relaxed baby.  I'm fairly certain she grew accustomed to lots of noise in the womb because she sleeps through anything ~ it's a must when your big brother is Kaden and he doesn't STOP just because the "baby's sleeping".  We were always so quiet with him ~ total opposite with Bailey.  She's a super eater (so was he).  I suppose this is the reason she was born at 9lbs 2oz!  I L.O.V.E. every ounce of her (and right now, that's a lot of ounces)!  She kind of just goes along with the flow of our little family ~ not that she really has a choice ~ but you know what I mean.  She's already been to the park, the zoo, Kaden's favorite indoor playland, his school, his tball game, Daddy's baseball game, the grocery store, Home Depo, a new church and shopping with big brother and mom.  So many more places than Kaden did at 9 weeks.  It's the second child.  You JUST take them everywhere, doesn't matter how old they are.

We had newborn pictures done by Caressa Captures when she was 8 days old.  Stressful day but well worth it when I look back at the beautiful moments captured that I get to hold on to forever.

In the beginning, I wasn't sure how I was going to manage being a mom to two.  After nine weeks, I can finally say, "it's getting easier".  I am so thankful for this sweet little blessing and our now, family of four.
